Welcome 2025!
Rewarding Excellence at Equigala
The accolades don’t stop there. At the upcoming Equigala later this month, the Bruggeman family will collect a well-deserved €10,000 reward for the impressive silver performance of BWP’s Killer Queen VDM. Ridden by Belgium-based Daniel Deusser, this mare by Eldorado van de Zeshoek earned a total of €1,137,544 last year.
Meanwhile, last year’s winner, Wim Impens, will receive the bronze cheque of €7,500 for his exceptional breeding achievement with King Edward. Another standout, Katanga v/h Dingeshof (breeder Jaak Vermeulen), ridden by Belgian showjumper Nicola Philippaerts, came just shy of the million-euro mark, finishing 4th in the rankings. Closing out the top five is Messi van’t Ruytershof, a BWP gelding bred by Stal ’t Ruytershof in Sint-Niklaas.
A Competitive Top 10
While BWP dominated the top five, Zangersheide showed its strength in the rest of the top 10:
- Thibeau Spits sent Impress-K van’t Kattenheye Z, bred by Tony Raman & Mieke Strobbe, into 6th place.
- Ambassador Z, bred by Jos Lansink, secured 7th.
- BWP mare Luna van het Dennehof, bred by Marc Van Dijck & Patrick De Muynck and ridden by Gilles Thomas, took 8th.
- Toulayna, a Toulon mare bred by Jasper Doucé, placed 9th.
- Finally, Casual DV Z, bred and ridden by Pieter Devos, completed the top 10.
What a year, and what extraordinary achievements! Thank you to all breeders, riders, and supporters. Here’s to more success in 2025.
