The K.B.R.S.F vzw is the only Equestrian Federation in Belgium recognized by the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (B.O.I.C) and the Fédération Equestre Internationale (F.E.I), which is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (I.O.C). As the umbrella organization for the non-profit associations Paardensport Vlaanderen and the Ligue Equestre Wallonie Bruxelles (LEWB), it is involved in national and international equestrian activities, with the goal of promoting and spreading the sport in general and equestrian sports in particular.
